One time, at band camp…

That’s me having just returned from band camp in Louisville, Kentucky. The camp was called Camp Crescendo and it was for marching bands. The idea was you would go there for a week and learn your halftime show for football games and also for marching band competitions. (Yes, my Canadian friends, there are marching band competitions.) When I was growing up I used to watch The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson a lot. It wasn’t because I thought he was funny or because I liked Johnny. Since his first professional position at the age of twenty with the Savannah Symphony Orchestra, Andrew has been in demand as a Trumpet soloist throughout North America. He has been a featured artist with several reputable orchestras, including the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, Dallas Symphony Orchestra, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Niagara Symphony, the Royal Conservatory Orchestra, and the Sun Valley Symphony Orchestra. His solo experience further extends to chamber ensembles, including Ars Nova Chamber Ensemble, the Bach Consort, Sun Valley Symphony Orchestra, and Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra.

In his solo appearances Andrew is able to connect with the audience on a personal level and often will provide anecdotes about the work that he is playing, creating a meaningful and entertaining experience for concertgoers. His personable demeanor, matched by his superior playing, makes Andrew a popular solo musician for private gatherings. Andrew performs coast-to-coast for individuals looking to provide an inimitable event for their VIP guests.

Known for his ability to play “just about anything”, Andrew swings from genre to genre while always playing the piece to perfection. Currently, Principal Trumpet with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and the Sun Valley Summer Symphony, he began playing the trumpet at the age of nine. Andrew was born in Louisville Kentucky and is a Yamaha performing artist.
